Back from South Africa

Well, all, I returned back from S Africa yesterday, and am currently working on recovering from jet-lag while catching up on work stuff.

While I do, I'm posting some photos for public consumption. You can view the main highlights on my trip, with commentary, here. However, here are a few, with added commentary, for your immediate perusal.

Our first day in Capetown was spent at a two-match day at the 20 20 (cricket) World Cup. I'm not much of a cricket fan, but I did my best to enjoy the day and figure out what was going on.

On day 2, family friend Russ and I went diving with Great White Sharks, together with my new brother-in-law, Grant, and his cousin. Liz in South Africa

As readers will know, I'm currently vacationing in South Africa. Thus far, it's been action packed.

Yesterday entailed going diving with Great White Sharks (sample pictures, not my own, below). Tomorrow is likely to involve a visit to a cheetah sanctuary (pictures to follow as soon as possible).

While I'm vacationing, be sure to keep checking in for updates on what's going on over here, and also check out my latest at the American Spectator. It's on my favorite subject, the libertarian-ish Mountain West...

New columns up today

I'll be flying out to Capetown in a few hours, but I did want to put up links to two new columns I have running today.

First, at The American, I have a new piece up on proposed tax increases in the UK that would hit the private equity industry (and you thought that was just an American concern?)

Second, in the Seattle P-I, I have a column up looking at the Dave Reichert-Darcy Burner rematch in WA-08.
